EduTex 2002's theme was "IT—Through HE** or High Water." As advertised, the conference featured practical, "how-to" sessions, a management and leadership focus, and region-specific issues organized around the following four tracks:
- Technology and Applications/Infrastructure
- Management Skills and Leadership
- Computing and User Support
- E-Learning
In addition, corporate and higher education participants presented information on new developments in their technology and software products.

If there is more information that I can provide you about my experience at EduTex 2002, please feel free to send me an e-mail at stuartg@u.arizona.edu. While EDUCAUSE bills this as the southwest regional EDUCAUSE, it is essentially an EDUCAUSE for Texas. Let's face it, Texas is one big state and there are a lot of major community colleges, colleges and universities. I found a lot of it interesting and the conference was well-worth attending. Next year's EduTex is now being planned and will be held in Dallas.
In addition, you may read Louise Glogoff's report. Louise is Web Manager at Pima Community College (yes, I'm her husband). She attended different sessions at EduTex 2002, and you are welcome to download her MS Word report. She takes even more notes that I do!
